Plasma Source Development
Many EHT personnel come from the fusion science or electric propulsion communities and have spent decades developing plasma sources for those environments. EHT personnel have developed field-reverse configurations (FRC) driven by theta pinches and rotating magnetic fields (RMF), inductive discharges, helicon discharges, washer guns, arc discharges, and pulsed plasma thrusters.
More recently, EHT has been working with customers developing atmospheric pressure plasmas using EHT Nanosecond Pulsers and Arbitrary Pulse Generators. The sources include surface dielectric barrier discharge (DBD), DBD jets, DBD-like jets, and atmospheric pressure arcs.
