Embedded Systems Engineer - Eagle Harbor Technologies

Job Summary

We are searching for an embedded systems engineer (ESE) to design, develop, test, and maintain embedded hardware/software systems. The ESE will identify and fix issues while working collaboratively with software developers, power system engineers, engineering and program managers, and other team members at our rapidly growing business.

EHT is a small pulsed-power company in the process of expanding our solid-state power systems into new research and commercial markets. EHT stands at the forefront of solid-state pulsed power and delivers new capabilities to our customers. Our engineers develop power systems for semiconductor processing, fusion energy science, additive manufacturing, water treatment, spacecraft propulsion, and other emerging plasma and pulsed power applications. We work closely with our customers to deliver power systems that enable them to expand the limits of their field.

What does a Research Engineer do at EHT?

  • Design and build embedded systems, including embedded system firmware and GUIs
  • Coordinate firmware and PCB interfaces, including some hands-on PCB design
  • Test and debug the systems pre and post integration
  • Monitor and maintain the system after development
  • Improve system efficiency, reliability, and performance during the product lifecycle
  • Collaborate with customers to create custom systems based on their needs

Qualification and Skills

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or science field
  • Programming experience in C, C++, Python, Verilog, Qt, etc.
  • Experience troubleshooting embedded systems and microcontroller peripherals
  • Experience with interfaces, IP protocols, and hardware subsystems
  • Proficiency working with common embedded systems toolchains
  • Strong interpersonal and writing skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Always eager to learn and improve
