Hardware Engineer – PCB Designer - Eagle Harbor Technologies

Job Summary

Eagle Harbor Technologies, Inc. (EHT) stands at the forefront of solid-state pulsed power and is expanding into new research and commercial markets. Our engineers develop power systems for semiconductor processing, medical devices, fusion energy science, and other emerging plasma and pulsed power applications. We work closely with our customers to deliver power systems that enable them to expand the limits of their field.

We are searching for a PCB design and test engineer to assist our team in bringing pulsed power and control systems to our customers. A successful applicant should be detail-oriented with desire to learn about pulsed power and high voltage. In this role, you will collaborate with world-class scientists and engineers to build and test unique power systems and deliver them to our customers.

What does a PCB Design and Test Engineer do at EHT?

  • Design printed circuit boards (PCBs) and select electrical components
  • Determine layer stackup, perform component selection (including packaging), component placement, routing feasibility studies, and signal routing of digital, analog, RF, and power conversion of PCBs
  • Construct test-setups for validating and troubleshooting power systems and PCBs
  • Collect testing data from power circuits using various test equipment and diagnostics
  • Document testing data for integration into internal and external reports
  • Library creation and maintenance

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor level degree in electrical engineering, physics, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience (including capstone projects, course work, etc.) with one of the various PCB design suites (e.g., KiCad, OrCAD, Altium, Pads, etc.)
  • Experience designing boards w/ 4+ layers, utilizing blind or buried vias
  • Experience debugging/troubleshooting PCBs with multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Circuits background knowledge
  • Experience generating BOMs, documentation
  • US citizenship or permanent resident required

Preferred Qualifications and Skills (desirable, but not required)

  • Board re-work experience
  • High voltage design experience
  • Knowledge of standards/requirements laid out in IPC-2221A, UL/IEC 61010, etc.
  • 3D CAD experience
  • Thermal management experience
  • Circuit simulation experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Starting Salary Range: $72,800 – $104,000 – Full-time
