Surface Modification

EHT power systems can be used for plasma surface activation, which modifies the chemical properties of the surface. The high-energy particles in the plasma interact with the surface, breaking the existing chemical bonds and creating new active sites. These active sites can enhance the surface’s reactivity, making it more amenable to bonding with other materials. This is particularly useful in applications such as adhesion improvement, where activated surfaces can form stronger bonds with adhesives or coatings. Plasma surface activation can increase the wettability of surfaces, making them more compatible with various liquids. For other applications, the corrosion resistance can be increased by creating a thicker oxide layer. This environmentally friendly technique is widely used in industries ranging from electronics to biomedicine for its ability to precisely and effectively modify surface properties.
