EHT selected for DOE SBIR to support Accelerators - Eagle Harbor Technologies

The Department of Energy awarded EHT a Phase I SBIR to begin to develop a new beam kicker power system. A new short-pulse stripline kicker is required for the new 150 MeV energy recovery LINAC being developed for the Electron Ion Collider (EIC), under construction at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL). The kicker power system must deliver ±50 kV pulses with a width less than 38 ns into a 50 Ω load with low jitter while being highly reliable and robust to potential faults.

EHT inductive adders can robustly and reliable produce short, high voltage pulses into a variety of loads. During the Phase I program, EHT will demonstrate that a single inductive adder stage can meet the challenging pulse shape requirements. EHT will use the single stage data to produce a preliminary design of the full inductive adder, which would be constructed in a potential Phase II program.
